He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Buchanan (Eartha) and James Reaves Sr. (Rosetta); his son James Reaves III; and his brothers, Herman Reaves, Eartha Reed Jr. and George Stubblefield.
He is survived by: his wife Sadie Reaves of Memphis, TN.; his children, Janice Reaves of Gary, IN., Marsha Reaves of Gary, IN., Kim Reaves of Gary, IN., Derrick Westbrook (LaTonya) of Gary, IN., Dewayne Westbrook of Indianapolis, IN., Eric Reaves (Lisa) of Louisville, KY. and Tyree Reaves of Memphis, TN.; his siblings, Janice Stutts of California, Marion Brown of California, Carol Reed of California, Linda Phillips (Chris) of California, Sandra Sinegal (Herman) of California, Carolyln Martin of Dallas, Texas. and Stanley Reed (Debrah) of California; his parents-in-law, Roosevelt Hunt of Chicago, IL. and Earline Hunt of Memphis, TN.; his siblings-in-law, Shirley Robinson of Gary, IN., James Usher (Stephanie) and Dejuan Hunt of Chicago, IL.; his grandson Cory Carter of Memphis, TN.; his cousin Harold Brown; and his close friends, Charles Scott and Tommy Earl. He is also survived by 41 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
