He was predeceased by : his father Kenneth Stressel; his former life partner Jana; and his mother Lee. He is survived by : his wife Connie (Johnston); his children, Jarod (Joey Flanigan) and Britney; and his sister Sandy (Bill). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and a large extended family.

A reception will be held on Friday, May 3rd 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Hope Church of Memphis (8500 Walnut Grove Rd, Cordova, TN 38018).

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jay's memory may be made to the International Multiple Myeloma Foundation.
