He was predeceased by: his father Kenneth Stressel; his former wife Jana; and his mother Lee. He is survived by: his wife Connie (Johnston); his children, Jarod (Joey Flanigan) and Britney; and his sister Sandy (Bill). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and a large extended family.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jay's memory may be made to the International Multiple Myeloma Foundation.
