He was predeceased by: his parents, Izma Minor and Cecil Dupuy Freeman; his siblings, Robert Webber Freeman and Lola Langdon; and his daughter Carol Anne Freeman.
He is survived by: his wife Anne; his son Dr. James Freeman (Lisa Myers); his grandchildren, Sarah, Kyle and Caitlin; his son Dr. John Freeman (Kimberly Freeman); his grandchildren, Benjamin and Hannah; his daughter Rev. Ashley Freeman Wright (Mark Wright); his grandchildren, Ethan, Eliott and Gabriel; and his brother C. Curtis Freeman (Jeanne).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorials be sent to the World Cataract Foundation, Peer Power, or charity of the donor's choice.
