He was predeceased by: his parents, Emmett Summerlin and Mildred Summerlin; his brother Joseph Summerlin; and his granddaughter Jennifer Jane Hobson. He is survived by: his wife Tresa "Terry" Summerlin; his daughter Jennifer Summerlin Hobson (Joel); his grandsons, Joel Jones Hobson IV and Graydon James Hobson; and his siblings, Glenda Summerlin Hansel (Joe) and Don Summerlin (Betty). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
