Joel Jones Hobson III Obituary

It is with sadness that the passing of Joel Jones Hobson III (Memphis, Tennessee) is shared. Joel, born on January 28, 1954, passed away on October 6, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Joel Jones Hobson Jr. and Jane Cleveland Hobson; his sister Laura Hobson Sargent (Bryan) of Nashville, TN; his children, Katherine Hobson Novikoff (Chris) of Memphis, Gardner Hobson Story (Kyle) of Memphis, Lizzy Novikoff, Ruthie Story and Hope Story; his wife Jennifer Summerlin Hobson; and his sons, Joel Jones Hobson IV and Graydon James Hobson.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM and on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 10:00 AM. A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the Memphis Country Club (600 Goodwyn St, Memphis, TN 38111).
