We are sad to announce that on November 15, 2025, at the age of 23, John Daniel Russell (Memphis, Tennessee) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this luminous soul, let his loved ones carry forward the torch of his memory, illuminating the path ahead with the warmth of his love and the brilliance of his spirit. Though John Daniel may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, his essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night.
He was predeceased by: his grandfathers, John Everett Bolton (Jack), John Morris Russell and Senior. He is survived by: his parents, John Russell and Beverly Russell; his sister Lillian Grace Russell (Lilly); and his grandmothers, Alice Starnes Bolton and Jeanne Newman Russell. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 22nd 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Church of the Holy Communion (4645 Walnut Grove Rd, Memphis, TN 38117). A reception will be held on Saturday, November 22nd 2025 at 3:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Daniel's memory to the Baylor University Hankamer Business School need-based scholarship fund (https://www.baylor.edu) or to the Recover Food Feed Hope ministry at Church of the Holy Communion.
