He was predeceased by: his parents, George Clayton Allen and Ada Stevenson Allen. He is survived by: his wife Beverly Bruch Allen; his son John Stevenson Allen, Jr. (Audrey); his sister Laura Allen Edwards; his grandchildren, Natalie Snyder, Piper Allen and Jack Allen; and his great grandchild Gabriel Allen Johnson.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in John's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
