He was predeceased by: his parents, John T. Gravatt and Kitty Reaves Gravatt; his wife Ernestine Gravatt; his son Doyle Jay Gravatt; his great grandchild Jacob Pegram; and his siblings, Nina, Mathel, Lavern, Betty, Bobby and Jerry.
He is survived by: his sons, Ernest Dale (Judy), John Glen (Emily) and Paul Duane (Christy); and his daughter-in-law Audrey Dale. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren.
