“The NY Times finally caught on that Laura died over one year ago in Memphis. She did it her way,mostly. Stunning beauty was only part of her.She was a good writer in Philly and would have been even better if she had stayed on in DC either with the Inquirer or the NY Times. But,she did not miss much. She got a very good job,had a man she loved even if they separated,later and had another romance till almost the end of her life. She sought no tributes or remembrances. Good for her. mark”

“I am so sorry to learn of laura’s passing. Laura was my neighbor in falls church, va while she and my father worked for time life books and i helped laura with the lawn, watched her cats if she was traveling, etc., she was an absolute delight to be around. Sadly, it has been about 20 years since we last spoke, when i visited new orleans and stayed at her house in the french quarter. Laura was a favorite, so smart, funny and a joy to be around.
