He is survived by: his wife Sharon; and his children, Susan Schultz of Greenville, NC, Patty Sterbinsky (Allan) of Stanton, TN, Joe Cornelius (Christi) of St. Cloud, FL, Lee Cornelius (Melissa) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Christy Vickrey (C. B.) of Germantown, TN, Dr. Jimmy Murphy (Jennifer) of Somerville, TN and Scott Murphy (Martha) of Collierville, TN. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to GUMC (designated for the Mary Brooks Murphy Youth Mission Fund or the Lauren Wright Hobbs Nursing Scholarship), St. Jude Research Hospital or a charity of the donor's choice.
