She was predeceased by: her parents, Sam Von Kanel and Floy Von Kanel Polk; and her brothers, Samuel "Bo" Von Kanel and Clifford "Cooter" Von Kanel (Carroll Ward). She is survived by: her daughter Kim Sands Coggin (Jay); her granddaughter Lilly Coggin; and her former husband Richard Sands (Orville Lonvick).
