She was predeceased by: her parents, Essie Mae Cogdell-Murphy and Joe Jones; her husband Haywood Tinnon Sr.; and her siblings, Harry Murphy Sr., Joseph Murphy of Indianapolis, Hattie Pearl Holmes and Lillie Mae Ward.
She is survived by: her children, LaVerne Jackson of Memphis, Tennessee, Darline Bynum of Memphis, Tennessee, Evelyn Tinnon of Memphis, Tennessee, Kamala Ryan (Earnest) of Memphis, Tennessee, Ivory Tinnon (Elbony) of Memphis, Tennessee, Gwendolyn Bruce (Marcus) of Memphis, Tennessee and Haywood Marcel Tinnon Jr. of Memphis, Tennessee; her stepdaughter Lucy Steen of Coffeeville, Mississippi; her brothers, Frank Murphy of Indianapolis and Cleophus Murphy (Heather) of Warner Robins, Georgia; and her siblings-in-law, Samuel Tinnon, Ivory Tinnon of Tillatoba, Mississippi, Effie Tinnon, Ann Rockette (Mitchell) and Geraldine Olive (Sydney) of St. Louis, Missouri. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 5th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:55 AM and at 11:00 AM at 1700 Airways Blvd, Memphis, TN 38114.
