He was predeceased by: his parents, Mal Dee Ellis and Wanda Lee Ellis; his aunt Amelia Ellis; and his brother Charles David Ellis. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Mohr Ellis; his children, Eli Nickolas Ellis (Leslie) of Dallas, Scott Lee Ellis (Lisa) of Memphis and Whitney Elizabeth Ellis of Washington, DC; his grandsons, Henry Mal Ellis and Jack Thomas Ellis; and his siblings, William Donald Ellis (Kathy), Linda Ellis Howe, Carol Ellis Dubose and Mary Ellis Ohm. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Second Presbyterian Church (4055 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38111).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Second Presbyterian Church.
