He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Peggy Roberts Hood; his daughter Tiffany DeShea Hood-Ely (Jason); his sister Joanne Wiyott; his sister-in-law Jeanne Roberts Perriera (Jerry); and his parents, Aaron Eual Hood and Sudie Trull Hood.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Memphis Jewish Home or Wounded Warrior Project in Gary's name.
