We are sad to announce that, on March 3, 2026, Martha Elizabeth Sherman Muse of Memphis, Tennessee passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Martha shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Martha farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She was predeceased by: her siblings, Nina Alice "Little Sissy" Sherman, Charlotte Nell Sherman "Penny" Kerr of Pensacola and Odom Sherman Jr. of Dallas, Texas.. She is survived by: her son James Sherman Muse, Sr.; her grandsons, James Sherman Muse Jr. of Memphis and Wesley Haynes Muse of Memphis; her daughter Maribeth Cashon Fowlkes (Bob Fowlkes); and her grandchildren, Katie Fowlkes Badgett and Meredith Fowlkes Harwood. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Christian Brothers High School, the University of Memphis, West Cancer Center and Research Institute, and especially to Dr. Matthew Tibor Ballo and his Radiation Program now expanding in Cleveland Clinic/Hillcrest Hospital in Madison Heights, Ohio; St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, WKNO-AM/TV, WYPL-TV, or the cause of the donor's choice.
