She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph M. Thurman Jr. and Dorothy H. Thurman; and her siblings, Susan C. Hirsch and Joseph M. Thurman III. She is survived by: her husband William H. Simpson Jr.; her children, Savannah Burton (Brad) and William H. Simpson III (Anaïs); her grandchildren, Ethan Burton, Brooks Burton, Rose Simpson and Violette Simpson; and her sisters, Barbara Presley (Sam) and Stephanie Wilson (Keith).
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 at 1:00 PM and from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Christ Church (4488 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38117). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the Humane Society of Memphis.
