He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Oswald Stuart McCown III and Harriet Agatha McCown; his children, Michael Dawson McCown, Jr., Nicholas Hawks McCown and Mary Alexandra McCown; his siblings, Mary Catherine Herman and Oswald Stuart McCown IV (Gina); and his grandson Baylor McCown. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews; and many extended family members and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dawson's honor to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
