It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Miriam Elizabeth Townshend of Memphis, Tennessee, who passed away on April 6, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Joseph Howard and Frances Townshend (Daniel); and her siblings, Frances Ann (Townshend) Atwood (Richard), Virginia, Joseph Jr., Edward B. and Jerry Townshend.

She is survived by : her nieces, Margaret Schuster (Atwood) and Miriam Elizabeth (Atwood) Massie (John); her nephew Richard Edward Atwood (Susan); and her friend Sharon McCall. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A memorial service was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Second Presbyterian Church (4055 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38111). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Forest Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park-Midtown (1661 Elvis Presley Blvd, Memphis, TN 38106).
