He was predeceased by: his parents, Rebecca Viola McDonald and Everett Harvell; and his siblings, Frances Miller, Ann Simmons, Everett Harvell and Thomas Harvell.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Barber Harvell; and his children, Patti Newsom Lewis (Jimmy) and Raymond Elmo Harvell. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 4 nieces, and 5 nephews.
