He was predeceased by: his parents, Erlewood Barden and Jane Barden (McIntosh); and his brother Will (Louise). He is survived by: his wife Linda Freeman Barden; his daughters, Heather Currier (Eric), Allison Redus (Michael), Courtney Mullikin (Josh) and Melanie Hurst (Cortez); his grandchildren, CJ, Aaron, Alex, Avery, Brandon, Addy, Vicky, Henry, Evie, Makayla and Wesley; and his siblings, John (Sharon), Bobby (Brenda) and Charlotte.
