He was predeceased by: his parents, Ethel Rosalie Moore and R. Bates Brown, Sr.; and his sisters, Grace Brown Mallery and Betty Brown Canon McArthur. He is survived by: his wife Frances Louise Furbringer; his children, Patricia Brown of Memphis, Richard Brown of New York City, NY, Daniel Brown (Rosalyn) of Dallas, TX and Christie Brown of Walla Walla, WA.; his grandchildren, Daniel, Charlotte, Jordan (Reid), Preston, Joy and Sara Brown; and his sister Joy Brown Wiener.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Gideons International or Child Evangelism Fellowship Memphis.
