He was predeceased by : his parents, Sterling and Maie; and his brother Robert. He is survived by : his wife Virginia; his children, Richard Scott Stanley and Lisa Stanley McIndoo; his son-in-law Bill McIndoo; and his grandsons, Sasha, Simon and Noah.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Church of the Holy Apostles (1380 Wolf River Blvd, Collierville, TN 38017). A celebration of life was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
