He is survived by: his wife Linda Jean Hayes; his son Nicholas Hanks; his sisters, Kay Hays and Dotty Mills of Orlando, Florida; his grandchildren, Jessica Hayes and Drew Allison Hanks; and his great grandchildren, Wyatt and Lucy Hanks. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
