He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Nancy Gates Gibson and Roy Marsh Gibson; his children, Bowen Gibson, Jennifer Gibson (Scott) and Louisa Gibson; and his sisters, Nancy Russell and Sally Gibson. He was also cherished by 16 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be directed to Opera Memphis.
