He was predeceased by: his father Johnny Ray Bass; his stepfather Arthur D. Ivy; his grandmother Zula Mae Carter; his great-grandparent Thelma Hubbard; and his grandfather George McGee.
He is survived by: his mother Shirley Ivy; his brother Rontae Bass; and his sons, Courtney Bass, Terrance Bass and Terry Bass Jr.. He is also survived by two grandsons and one niece.
