He was predeceased by: his siblings, George Boyd and Edna McGill; his son Gregory Vance Boyd; and his grandson Clayton Poole. He is survived by: his siblings, William C. Boyd (Regina) and Mary Kathryn Boyd; his wife Mary Pfeifer; his children, Leigh Ann Poole (Peter) of Oxford, Stacy Boyd Bloomston of Birmingham, Lauren Shaffrey (George) of Collierville and Allison Harvey (Marty) of Jackson, Tennessee.; his grandchildren, Mary Avery Poole, Bradley Little, Ellen Little, Brian Shaffrey, Alex Bloomston, Anna Bloomston, Claire Bloomston, Andrew Allen and Geoffrey Allen; and his great grandchildren, Emma and Charlotte.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 20th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception (1695 Central Ave, Memphis, TN 38104). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 20th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
