We announce the death of Walter Thomas Aldridge (Memphis, Tennessee), who passed away on October 24, 2026, at the age of 83. Walter will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Clarence Alridge and Tokuye Ouchi Bryan; his wife Dixon Aldridge; and his siblings, Jesse Lee Aldridge, Donnie Aldridge, Ricky Aldridge, Janice Compton and Judy Aldridge.
He is survived by: his daughters, Graison Aldridge Gehring (Lance) of Bartlett and Shannon Aldridge-Smith (Tommy) of Cordova, Tennessee; his siblings, Kathy Drennan (Banks) of Richburg, Terri Aldridge of Hickory Tavern, Dorothy Scruggs (Chet) of Germantown, Maryland, William Scruggs of Chapel Hill and Glenn Chapell (Sissy) of Rock Hill; his grandchildren, Thomas Reynolds of Cordova, Samantha Hollowell (Josh) of Martin and Sarah Gehring of Bartlett, Tennessee; and his great grandchildren, Holden Hollowell of Martin and Hayes Hollowell of Martin, Tennessee.. He is also survived by 19 nephews and nieces, 21 great nieces, and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 30th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Trinity Baptist Church (8899 Trinity Rd, Cordova, TN 38018). A funeral service was held on Friday, October 30th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, October 30th 2026 at the Forest Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park – East Add (2440 Whitten Rd, Memphis, TN 38133).
