We are sad to announce that on July 24, 2020, Walter Phelan (Memphis, Tennessee), born in Jackson, Tennessee passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Carolyn Cooper Phelan and Walter Joseph Phelan, Jr.; and his brother Price Anthony Phelan. He is survived by: his wife Cindy Compton Phelan; his children, Keeley Phelan Childress (Bailey) and Walter Joseph Phelan, IV; his siblings, Juanita Warthen (Brad) of Columbia, Cooper Phelan (Tina) of Memphis and Steve Phelan (Deenie) of Memphis; his grandchildren, Jackson, Campbell and Collier Childress; and his siblings' children, Kathleen Warthen (Bentley Coffey) of Columbia, Nell Warthen of Columbia, Becca Warthen of Columbia, Tina Bell (Jason) of Memphis, Christin Yates of Memphis, Matt Warthen (Ashley), Andy Warthen of Columbia, Kevin Phelan (Christine) of Memphis, Brooks Phelan of Memphis and Brendan Phelan of Memphis. He is also survived by great nieces and great nephews and an incredible group of cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Birthright of Memphis.
