He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter "Gene" Sanders, Sr. and Deborah Sudduth Sanders. He is survived by: his children, Caleb Lucas (Courtney) of Gastonia, NC., Avery Sanders and Summer Sanders of Heath Springs, SC.; his grandchildren, Catherine, Caroline and Clark Lucas; his sister Tracy Gregory (Jimmy) of Jefferson, SC.; and his nephews, Tristan, Alston and Aiden Gregory.
