He was predeceased by: his parents, James William and Sudie Hargis Francis; his son Peter K. Francis; and his sisters, Wilmuth Lyons and Mary Schlemmer.

He is survived by: his wife Brittye Link Francis; his brother Wilton "Pep" Francis of Pleasant Hill, CA; and his grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Francis and John Luttrell Francis of Memphis. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
