He was predeceased by: his parents, William H. Watkins, Sr. and Gussie Viola Watkins; and his siblings-in-law, Gene, Geri Wainscott, Gary and Linda Wainscott.
He is survived by: his wife Cordia Jeanette Watkins; his children, Cynthia Renee Watkins and William H. Watkins, III (Sarah); his grandsons, William H. Watkins, IV, Henry David Watkins and James Christopher Watkins; his brothers, Van Watkins (Norma), Joe Watkins (Sharon), Tom Watkins (Sandy) and Ben Watkins (Victoria); and his sisters-in-law, Shirley Figgins and Barbara Wilbanks (Joe). He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Christ Church (4488 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38117). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Memphis Funeral Home (5599 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38119).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any memorial donations be given in his honor to Christ Methodist Church, Germantown Performing Arts Center or Tennessee Arts Academy.
