He was predeceased by : his parents, Allen Hyman Burgess and Jessie Ruth Capshaw Burgess; his sister Elizabeth Ann Murray; and his son-in-law Jimmy Vaughn. He is survived by : his wife Genetia Lamberth Burgess of Middleton; and his daughters, Carmen Stringfellow (Jackie) of Memphis, Cindy Owens (Mark) of Collierville and Carla Vaughn of Middleton. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
