He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Eugene Caruthers and Ella Daphine Herston. He is survived by: his wife Claudia Douglas Gillespie; his children, Michael E. Caruthers, Jr. (Suzanne) of Knoxville, TN and Sally Caruthers (Kevin) of Truckee, CA; his grandchildren, Collin, Olivia, Gaven, Miles and Charlotte; and his sisters, Edna Webb of Franklin, TN and Janice Hight of Columbia, TN. He is also survived by seven nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Munford Funeral Homes - Millington Chapel (7450 Raleigh Millington Rd, Millington, TN 38053). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Millington Chapel (7450 Raleigh Millington Rd, Millington, TN 38053).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Millington Kiwanis Club or the Millington Crisis Center—organizations close to Mike's heart.
