He is survived by: his mother Linda Simmons McCormick; his wife Patricia Kay Melson Ferrell; his children, Amanda Ferrell (John Brown) of Hillsboro, TN, Brittany Rhea (Dustin) of Morrison, TN and Dakota Ferrell of Morrison, TN; his grandchildren, Rylee, Addison, Saylor, Spencer and Lanie; and his siblings, Lee Simmons of Viola, TN, Angela Anderson (Jeff) of Woodbury, TN, Tonya Murray of McMinnville, TN, Joyce Simmons of Smithville, TN and Jessica Smartt (Amanda) of McMinnville, TN. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 9:00 AM at the High's Chapel (101 College St, McMinnville, TN 37110). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
