She was predeceased by: her parents, Perry Whitten and Mattie Sue Housley Whitten; her husband Reverend Gerald H. Kirby; her sons, Steven Perry Kirby and Brian Edward Kirby; and her sister Helen Whitten Kincaid.
She is survived by: her son Reverend Charles Daniel Kirby (Patricia); her grandchildren, Jesse Kirby (Jennifer) and Emily Kirby Erb (Nathan); her great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Eleanor of Candler, NC.; her siblings, Clara Sue Whitten Todd of Clyde, NC and John David Whitten of Morristown, TN; her siblings' children, Patricia Kincaid Thurston (Torin), Elaina Whitten, Paul Kincaid, Frank Todd and George Todd; and also Linda.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to a favorite charity.
