He was predeceased by: his wife Lochiel K. Garretson; his parents, Horace Garretson and Myrtle Snyder Garretson; his siblings, Thomas Garretson, Ruby Jo Garretson and Mary Ella Long; his grandsons, Seth Garretson and Brently Bullington; and his brother-in-law Lewis Long.

He is survived by: his children, Chris Garretson (Donna Welch), Westley Garretson (Pam) and Kaella Morris (Dexter); his stepchildren, Rhonda Williams (Ronald) and Greg McElroy (Patricia); his grandchildren, Chad, Chayme Garretson, Blake Garretson (Heather), Zak Garretson (Brianna), T. Garretson (Amanda), Kadron Bullington, Lance Bullington (Tori), Brooklyn Siples (Gabriel), Alexis and Calaeb Reed; his stepgrandchildren, Jamie, Aidan, McKenzie McElroy and Christy Peavler; his great grandchildren, Allyson Houchins, Aliah Garretson, Zayden, Zeeland, Zander, Zyleigh, Zion, Kambree, Kallum, Millie, Myah Garretson, Knoxlee, Renlee Bullington and Colter Avery Siples; and his close friends, Veronica Lopez and Jeannie Weldon.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Historic Bethesda Cemetery.
