She was predeceased by: her husband Robert "Bob" Carter; her son Robert Keith Carter; and her parents, Harold Rittenhouse and Pauline Rittenhouse. She is survived by: her children, Kay Hurley (Mark), Tim Carter (Lisa), Marc Carter (Libba) and Scot Carter (Stephanie); her grandchildren, Caitlyn Hurley-Potter, Meghan Hurley, Matthew Hurley, Shana Combs, Ryan Carter, Logan Carter, Lindsay Presnell, Taylor Carter, Jackson Estep, Graham Estep and Brooke Carter; her great grandchildren, Lucas Hurley, Chloe Slagle, Audrey Rypel, Noah Combs, Baylor Combs, Jenny Haas, Emerson Carter and Lexie Montanus; and her great great grandchild Armani Combs. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home (200 Jaybird Rd, Morristown, TN 37814). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Hamblen Memory Gardens (5421 E Andrew Johnson Hwy, Russellville, TN 37860).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to a charity of your choice, in remembrance of Carole's generous and caring spirit.
