He was predeceased by: his wife Wanda Feazell; his father James H. Gibson, Sr. (Margaret Stahl); his stepmother Mary Ruth Gibson; his brother James Gibson (Jimmy); and his son-in-law Randle Self.
He is survived by: his children, Kathy N. Self, Robin Cornett of Morristown and Daniel L. Gilbert of Conover, NC; his sisters, Brenda Hodge (Terry) of Hickory, NC and Joyce Gravanda (John) of Conover, NC; his sister-in-law Margaret Gibson of Wartburg, TN; his grandchildren, Christopher Self, Robert Dubois, Adam Self, Derek Cornett, Stephen Gilbert and Amber Huriton; his in-laws, Kenny Cornett, Rita Dubois, Kim Cornett and Brenna Self; and his great grandchildren, Casey, Cash Dubois, Caleb and Natalie Self. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and special cousins.
