Hugh leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Hugh’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Hugh will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Carolyn Rhodes Hartsell; his uncle Joe Briggs; and his friends, Dr. J. W. Taylor, Ken Cole and Jeff Harvel.
He battled Lymphoma, Parkinson's, and chemo side effects for eighteen years; and with a new type of aggressive Lymphoma Large B Cell discovered in 2026.
