He was predeceased by: his wife Joanne Long Hewitt; his son Benjamin Lee Hewitt; and his parents, Raymond Lee Hewitt and Pauline Kanipe Hewitt. He is survived by: his children, David Hewitt (Nena) and Genia Hewitt Reel; and his grandchildren, Rachel (Todd), Ben (Jennifer), Austin, Heather (Bruce), Jennifer and Ryan (Candace). He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren; along with other family and friends.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, May 8th 2025 at 11:45 AM and at 12:00 PM at the Emma Jarnagin Cemetery (855 S Fairmont Ave, Morristown, TN 37813).
