He was predeceased by: his mother Belle Nelms; and his siblings, Phyllis Sellers (Carl) and Bobby Simerly. He is survived by: his wife Agnes Simerly; his grandson Hayden Simerly (Hailey Eckert); and his great grandchild Bohdi Simerly. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Richard Simerly.
