He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard Shelton and Lucille Patterson. He is survived by: his children, Ashley Shelton (Zane) and Adam Shelton (Kimberly); his grandchildren, Madelyn and Landon; and his sisters, Sheila Barnes, Christy Hager and Shannon Becker. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
