She was predeceased by: her husband Earl William Cates; her parents, Thomas Turner (Delmas) and Frances Turner; and her son Brian Roach. She is survived by: her children, Sharon Sandefur (Marty) and Stacy Roach (Melissa); her grandchildren, Ashley Piburn (Jesse), Zachary Roach, Kynzie Stephens (Clint), Ty Sandefur (Tara) and Steven McWain (Abigail); her great grandchildren, Georgia, Emma Piburn, Silas Sandefur, Evie, Rowan, Piper Stephens, Evelyn and Weston McWain; and her sister-in-law Flora Mae Dills.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Hamblen Memory Gardens (5421 E Andrew Johnson Hwy, Morristown, TN 37814).
