He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Eugene Avent and Mildred Mae Harris Avent; and his brothers, Wayne Avent, Gene Avent and Howard Avent.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Lois Avent; his children, Sandra Wilkerson (Allen) and Keith Avent (Julie Montague); his sister Peggy Vandiver; his grandchildren, Steven Wilkerson (Bobbie), Kayla Wilkerson, Caroline Avent, Colleen Avent, Heath Wilburn (Ashley) and Tabitha Rainey (Kevin); and his great grandchildren, Gage Cook Wilkerson, Scarlett Cook-Wilkerson, Daisy Wilburn, Newt Rainey, Austin Stanford, Zoey Stanford and Lilly Rainey.
The family requests that memorials be directed to Early Grove Methodist Church, 1085 Early Grove Road, Lamar, MS 38642.
