It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James L. Johnson of Mosheim, Tennessee, who passed away on May 28, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Hermana Johnson and Isobel Johnson; his brothers, Billy, Ted and David Johnson; his siblings-in-law, Bill Lawson and Geraldean Johnson; and his great grandchild Kade Allen Sisk.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy Johnson; his daughters, Beth Johnson (Joey Tipton), Janet Banks (Eric) and Tammy Greene (Andy); his grandchildren, Celena Carter, Sarah Posey, Jackson Posey, Kevin Greene (Jamie), Rachael Crigger (Nathan), Kelsi Feezell (Dakota Sisk), Megan Ellenburg (Aaron), Dalton Johnson (Destiny Farnsworth), Kristen Johnson (Devon Willett) and Matthew Birmingham; his sisters, June Lawson of Flintstone, GA and Geneva Dockery (Jerry); his mother-in-law Evelyn Oldham; his brother-in-law Eddie Oldham; his close friend Tina Sparks; and his caregivers, Santanna Ray, Betsy Monroe, Tooter and Lisa. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, on Monday, June 2nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Christian Heritage Church (613 N Irish St, Greeneville, TN 37745). A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park (724 Hogan Rd, Rossville, GA 30741).
