He is survived by : his children, David Smith (Jennifer) and Tonya Smith-Anderson; his grandchildren, Kelsey Melton (Logan), Lei-Ane Smith and Cole Smith; his great grandchildren, Lathan, Kelsen and Halle Jo Melton; and his siblings, Virginia Smith-Barrett, Eva Nell Moore, Nora White (Jimmy), Diane Taylor (Steve), Cornelius Smith (Wanda) and Kent Smith (Susie). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 21st 2024 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, May 22nd 2024 at 8:00 AM at the Upton-Hay Funeral Home (307 W Lake Ave, Celina, TN 38551). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 22nd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, May 22nd 2024 at the Moore Cemetery.
