He was predeceased by: his parents, William Piert Pierson and Lottie Mae Owens; his wife Sally Lou Martin Pierson; and his siblings, Autho, Dallas, Clifford, Palmer, Bill, Kelly, Mack, Bertie and Sue.
He is survived by: his children, Jeffrey F. Pierson and Jan Ruth Cross (Gregory); his grandchildren, Rebecca Grace Cross and Conner Grant Cross (Claire); his great grandchild Graham Pierson Cross; and his siblings, Margie Sanders and Doug Pierson (Wanda Faye). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes (117 E Charlemont Ave, Kingsport, TN 37660). A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Oak Hill Memorial Park (800 Truxton Dr, Kingsport, TN 37660).
