He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Smith and Marjorie Smith; his wife Janet Lee Davidson Smith; and his siblings, Vernon Smith and Mary Lou Shockley.

He is survived by: his daughters, Tracy Smith and Carrie Bowen; his granddaughter Paige Holbert (Chris); and his great grandchild Chloe Grace.
