He was predeceased by : his father James Morrison Rice Sr.; and his brother Kevin Rice. He is survived by : his mother Peggy Parman; his wife Cindy Rice; his sister Phyllis McCaleb (Michael); his sons, James M. Rice III and Justin C. Rice; and his granddaughter Lisa Rice.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Sellars Funeral Home (2229 N Mt Juliet Rd, Mt. Juliet, TN 37122).
