With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Maxine Rather (Mount Juliet, Tennessee), born in Gallatin, Tennessee, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 25, 2025 at the age of 89. She was predeceased by: her parents, Malcom (Mildred Vaughn) and C. Rather; her daughter Dianna Rather Lloyd; and her siblings, George Vaughn, Mary Jackson, David Vaughn, Frances Brown and Patricia Murphy.
She is survived by: her children, David Rather (DeEtta), Allen Rather (Susan), Martin Rather (Tammy) and Regina Wilder (Tim); her grandchildren, Amanda Eley (Elliott), Jennifer Rice (Ryan), Jeremy Ivy (Sheryl), Brian Tomlinson (Brandy), Megan Melet (Patrick), Hunter Rather (Brittany), Dylan Wilder and Nicholas Wilder; her great grandchildren, Mattie Eley, Josie Eley, Landon Ivy, Haiden Ivy, Caleb Tomlinson, Kaylee Tomlinson, Kya Melet, Kylie Melet, Kason Melet, Townes Rather and Jaxson Rice; and her brother Harvey Thaxton (Connie).
